Our caring, dedicated and exuberant staff team consists of Nursery Nurses / Teachers who are all qualified to NNEB/ NVQ Level 2/3 / Level 4 / Degree / Early Years Professional Status / Qualified Teacher Status or are working towards these awards. We are proud of the fact that 80% of our staff are university graduates.

Staff knowledge and training is of paramount importance and the Nursery is committed to an on-going professional staff development programme to ensure that we are continually up to date with Childcare and Management issues and any changes in leglislation.
The Nursery endeavours to attain much higher staffing ratios than those stipulated by statutory requirements with the Manager and Deputy regarded as super numery.

To ensure Continuity of Care all children are allocated a Key Worker. Each Key Worker has special responsibilities for a child's continued care, welfare and development.

At The Rocking Horse Nursery we have a dedicated catering team preparing fresh food daily from a fully-equipped and substantial commercial kitchen.
We provide a healthly and balanced diet, as nutritious meals are essential to each child's development. The Nursery encourages sensible eating habits and views meal times as an enjoyable, social occasion. All Individual dietary requirements are met and a vegetarian option is also provided.

Sleep Time
Each child has their own individual bed or cot within their room to sleep or nap, according to individual sleeping patterns, as rest and sleep are as important as nutritious food!

Children have the opportunity to learn about the wider world through outings and visits to places of interest, such as museums, the farm, the local fire or police station or the theatre. Parents are also invited to participate in visits.

Partnerships with Parents
The Rocking Horse Nursery encourages the involvement and support of parents. We relish the opportunity to share your child's experiences and work together to further their learning and development in all areas.
Daily feedback is given to parents and Open days and parents' evenings regularly take place.

Security & CCTV
At The Rocking Horse Nursery the security of your child is paramount.
Drop-off and collection arrangements are agreed with parents in advance and any changes should be advised to the Manager prior to your child being collected.
A CCTV system is installed throughout the premises together with biometric fingerprint entry systems for your convenience and to ensure maximum protection and security for your child.

For your peace of mind, we also maintain a secure, encrypted parental webcam system to allow you to see your child at the Nursery via the internet from wherever you are.
Parental webcams allow you the opportunity to be involved in your child's time at nursery and see how happy they are and the great job that our staff do every day!
